After a break of eight days, the Southwest Monsoon is once again gaining pace in Vidarbha region, including Nagpur district. Gondia district, which received the lowest monsoon rain after its onset all over Vidarbha, recorded heavy rainfall with 75.4 mm in last 24 hours. The people of Nagpur also heaved a sigh of relief in last 24 hours as the city witnessed 13.8 mm rainfall and brought down the maximum temperature upto 32.90 C, which was hovering near 370 C mark a couple of days ago.
 
On Saturday, light showers took place in the morning in Nagpur whereas moderate rains were witnessed in city in the evening which caused water logging in many places of the city. Due to rains in the evening, power cuts were also observed in some places which took a couple of hours to be restored. Buldhana district also received moderate rainfall in last 24 hours as the district witnessed 39 mm rains. Akola (1.7 mm), Amravati (4.4 mm), Bhandara (3 mm), Bramhapuri (4 mm), Gadchiroli (2.6 mm), Wardha (2.8 mm), Washim (2 mm) and Yavatmal (5 mm) also received light rains in last 24 hours.
 
As monsoon reappeared, it brought down the maximum temperature in all over Vidarbha. With 34.60C, Chandrapur was the hottest in Vidarbha. Amravati, Bhandara, Buldhana, Bramhapuri, Gadchiroli, Gondia, and Yavatmal recorded the maximum temperature below 320 C on Saturday. India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted partly cloudy weather all over Vidarbha on Sunday as some parts will witness light to moderate rains in isolated places.
