CITY’S Aditya Narendra Ukey
clinched the 4th Nagpur Below
1800 Chess Tournament which
concluded at GH Raisoni
Institute of Information and
Technology, Shraddha Park,
Wadi Hingna Link Road.
The event was organised by
Kalpana Prakash Welfare
Foundation in association with
GH Raisoni Sport and Cultural
Foundation and was recognised by Chess Association
Nagpur, Maharashtra Chess
Association, AICF and FIDE.
Aditya scored eight points
out of nine to emerge winner.
Shaunak Badole also of Nagpur
too scored 8 point but was
placed second based on tiebreak scores.
City’s Sahajveersingh Maras,
Niranjan Mocharla of Andhra
Pradesh, Mradul Yadav of
Nagpur, Dhiman Mitra of West
Bengal and Prasann Shukla of
Chhattisgarh scored 7.5 points
each and were placed from 3rd
to 7th position based on their
tie-break scores.
Ukey got richer by Rs 51000
while Shaunak Badole received
Rs 30000 as the prize money.
Prizes were distributed to top
20 finisher as well as to best
veteran, best Nagpur player.
Trophies were also given to top
ten boys and girls in Under-7,
U-9, U-11, U-13 and U-15 age
groups. IA Ajinkya Pingale was
the chief arbiter for the event
who was being assisted by FA
Shiva Iyer, FA AmitTembhurne,
FA Shubham Soni, FA Bharti
Dhote, FA Sagar Sakhare, SNA
Prayas Ambade, SNA Shrikant
Bagde, SNA Sudhanshu
Gaidhane, SNA Shyam Agrawal

Girish Pandav, social worker and senior Congress leader
was the chief guest of the prize
distribution function.
