Jai Athletics Club’s runners excel in Satara Half Marathon

ATHLETES from Jai Athletics Club excelled in the recently held Satara Hill Half Marathon. In the competition, the athletes won 14 gold medals. The event had three categories of finisher’s medals. The gold medal, named Hill Champion was given to runners who finished the Half Marathon in less than two hours. The silver medal, named Hill Conqueror was given to runners who finished the Half Marathon in more than two hours but less than 2:30 hours. The bronze medal, named Hill Challenger was given to runners who finished in more than 2:30 hours. A total of 20 athletes from Jai Athletics Club participated in the event. Out of the 20 participants, 14 runners got gold medals, five won silver and one got bronze.
 
This is for the first time that 14 runners from any running group of Nagpur won gold medals in this event, informs a press release. All athletes give the credit of their performance to NIS coach Dr Sunil Kapgate. The winners are as follows: Ajit Bende (25) 1:15:30, Manish Pathe (22) 1:18:40, Manohar Barai (39) 1:31:31, Mohit Kore (19) 1:32:49, Bhaskar Landge (43) 1:40:23, Dattakumar Sonawale (44) 1:44:19, Vishal Gokhe (42) 1:45:45, Mohan Gaikwad (46) 1:45:55, Om Prakash Dukiya (40) 1:46:38, Santosh Tayade (46) 1:56:24, Ashish Chaudhari (41) 1:56:27, Sharad Chandak (36) 1:57:45, Anurag Kulkarni (44) 1:58:04, Amresh Kumar (39) 1:59:02.
