Audi car accident
Before the collision involving multiple cars in the Ramdaspeth area, Sanket Bawankule and Ronit Chittamwar emerged through the sunroof of an Audi car, according to police who reviewed CCTV footage on Tuesday. The footage also confirmed that Arjun Hawre was driving the car.
Although Arjun Hawre was charged with multiple accidents in Ramdaspeth, the police continued their investigation on Tuesday and examined additional CCTV cameras. From a camera installed at Kachipura Square, it was observed that two people exited the Audi through the sunroof just before the accident. Further review identified them as Sanket Bawankule, the son of BJP State Chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule, and Arjun Chittamwar.
According to the police, the three men had dinner at La Horee Bar in Dharampeth. Sanket’s driver was behind the wheel of Arjun’s Kia Seltos, while Arjun, Sanket, and
Ronit were travelling in
the Audi.
Near Kachipura Square, Sanket and Ronit emerged from the sunroof.
Due to the high speed, Arjun lost control of the vehicle, which collided with multiple other vehicles. During the crash, the front left tire of the Audi burst.
The three men managed to flee the scene despite the burst tire. Sanket then contacted a friend in Koradi, who came to the Mankapur T-point to pick him up. Sanket left in his friend’s car. Meanwhile, a Polo (MH-02/CH-7765) driven by Mohd Faizan, which was struck by the Audi car at Ramdaspeth, folowed them to Mankapur T-point. Faizan and his associates pulled Arjun and Ronit from the Audi and forced them into the Polo.
They were taken to Timki, within the Tehsil Police Station limits. During this time, Arjun sent his live location to his wife via WhatsApp. Faizan’s group reportedly assaulted Arjun and Ronit and stole Arjun’s gold chain and bracelet. Tehsil Police acted on the live location and rescued Arjun and Ronit.
Arjun, Ronit under alcohol influence
Following their rescue, Arjun and Ronit were taken to Mayo Hospital, where it was confirmed that both were under the influence of alcohol. Blood samples were collected, revealing intoxication. Sanket’s blood samples were not taken, and he was released.
