CM expresses grief, declares aid

Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav has expressed grief over the incident and directed the officers concerned
to ensure best medical services to the injured. He has declared to provide immediate financial relief of Rs 2 lakh each to bereaved family members and Rs 50,000 each to the injured.
 
 
In a tragic incident, seven people, including a 3-year-old boy, were killed and 12 were injured after a hywa overturned on a pick-up vehicle at Nunji village, Sihora-Silaudi road under the jurisdiction of Majhgavan police station, on Wednesday evening. The deceased and injured belong to Kol family of Pratappur village in Majhgava. All of them were labourers and were going for work. The deceased have been identified as Shobharam (35), son of Chhotu, Usha Bai (50), wife of Kothari Adivasi, Shivakul Kol (18), son of Rajesh Kol, Kallu Bai (30), wife of Shobharam, Ranu Kol (19), wife of Karan Kol, Karan Kol (20), son of Pardesi Kol and Bhura Kol (3), son of Shobharam Kol, residents of Pratappur village in Majhgavan.
 
The 11 injured include Dilip (30), son of Kothari Kol, Chandrabhan (40), son of Kachaula Kol, Kothari Kol (55), son of Ghamandi Kol, Kanhaiyya (14), son of Dilip Kol, Rajesh (36), son of Hemraj Kol, Raja (9), son of Rajesh Kol, Mango Bai (28), wife of Rajesh Kol, Radhika (7), daughter of Rahul Kol, Saraswati (25), wife of Rahul Kol, Gajjo Bai (38), wife of Chadrabhan Kol and Karan Gontia (24), son of Mahesh Gontia, residents of Pratappur village in Majhgavan and hywa driver Omkar Dwivedi who escaped from the spot after the accident and currently undergoing treatment of fracture in his leg at a private hospital. According to Majhgavan police, the incident took place when around 20 per cent were travelling on a pick-up vehicle (MP-20LB-0237). They were passing through Sihora-Silaudi road when a speeding hywa (MP-53HA-1986) being driven recklessly by the driver rammed into the pick-up vehicle and overturned on it. Witnessing the accident, villagers and other passers-by gathered at the spot and started rescuing the injured from pick-up vehicle. Learning about the incident, police reached the spot and rushed the injured to Sihora Government hospital where seven of the injured were declared brought dead while two of the 11 injured were referred for Medical College and Hospital, Jabalpur. Jabalpur Collector Deepak Saxena reached the hospital and sought information about the health of injured. He directed the officers to provide best medical services to the injured.
