Vijay Phanshikar to deliver Maulana Abdul Karim Parekh Memorial lecture on Sept 20

Vijay Phanshikar, Editor, ‘The Hitavada’, will deliver the annual Padma Bhushan Maulana Abdul Karim Parekh Memorial Lecture on the topic of, ‘Role of Religion in Character Building’, from 4 pm on Friday, at Convocation Hall of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU), Maharajbagh Square, Civil Lines.
The annual lecture is organised jointly by RTMNU and Humanity Charitable Trust to commemorate the peaceful ideology promoted by renowned Islamic scholar Padma Bhushan Late Maulana Abdul Karim Parekh. Previously, the lecture has been delivered by prominent personalities like K Sudarshan, then RSS chief; Balbir Singh Renu, noted businessman; Kuldeep Nayar, veteran journalist; S Y Quraishi, former Chief Election Commissioner; Arif Mohammed Khan, Governor of Kerala; and Dr Bhushan Kumar Upadhyay, retd DGP, Maharashtra Police.
Dr Prashant Bokare, In-charge Vice Chancellor, RTMNU will preside over while Dr Sanjay Dudhe, Pro-Vice-Chancellor will be the chief guest for the lecture. Dr Raju Hiwase, Registrar, has appealed to the general public to be present in large numbers.
