A CITY woman was brutally beaten by her husband and his girlfriend in Nashik. She suffered a serious head injury but did not receive treatment there. The injured woman was brought to Nagpur but had already died by then. The deceased’s daughter filed an FIR in Nashik against her father and his girlfriend. The deceased has been identified as Rajni Prakash Walde (50), a resident of Gautam Nagar, Gaddigodam. Nashik Police have registered a case of culpable homicide Rajni’s husband, Prakash Tukaram Walde (60), and Mandakini Gangurde (45), a resident of Dindori, Nashik, based on the complaint filed by Rajni’s daughter, Kajal (25). According to police, Prakash was a soldier in the Indian Army and, after retiring in 2002, worked in DSC Visakhapatnam until 2022. He is now fully retired. Prakash and Mandakini have been in a romantic relationship for the past two years. Prakash left his wife and two children to live with Mandakini in Nashik.
 
Rajni was not receiving anypenny from Prakash. As a result, Rajni and Kajal travelled toNashik on September 15. Theylocated Prakash andMandakini’s flat. Upon arriving, Rajni saw a large photo of Prakash and Mandakini in thedrawing room, which enragedher. An argument ensuedbetween Rajni, Prakash, andMandakini. During a scuffle inthe kitchen, Prakash andMandakini pushed Rajni hardwhich caused her head to hitthe kitchen top and sustaingrievous injuries. Kajal managed to take hermother to the hospital inNashik, but her condition wasdeteriorating. Kajal brings hermother to Nagpur in an ambulance. They arrived at MayoHospital in the early hours of September 17, but the doctordeclared Rajni dead. The Tehsil Police registereda case of accidental death. Onthe complaint of Kajal, OjharPolice in Nashik district registered a case of culpable homicide against Prakash andMandakini and arrested them. The court remanded bothPrakash and Mandakini topolice custody for three days.
