CENTRE Point School, Katol Road emerged champions of the Under-14 football tournament organised by District Sports Office at Divisional Sports Association ground, Mankapur.
In the final, CPS defeated St Francis de Sales School 3-1 via tie-breaker after both the teams were locked at 1-1 at the end of regulation time.
Arjun Mahatme scored for CPS in regulation time while Krutarth Deshbhratar levelled the scores.
In the shoot-out, Ritul Wankhede, Vishnu Neredumali and Sajog Asudani scored for CPS.
For SFS, only Yash Jetwani managed to find the back of the net.
Earlier in the semis, CPS rallied to beat St John’s 3-2 via tie-breaker.
Mohd Umair Shaikh put St John’s ahead in the 8th minute but Arjun Isaacs levelled in the 28th. In the tie-breaker, Wankhede, Isaacs and Neredumali scored for CPS while for St John’s Umair and Mihir Thakur scored.
In the second semis, SFS beat St Michael’s 3-0. Krutarth Deshbhratar, Samuel Francis and Aaron Pinto were the scorers.
