GGITS hosts Internal Hackathon for students

Gyan Ganga Institute of Technology and Science (GGITS) hosted an Internal Hackathon for the prestigious SIH 2024-National level Ideation Contest, on Monday. Around 143 teams participated with different problem statements such as student innovation, blockchain and cyber security, MedTech/ BioTech/HealthTech, Smart Education, Disaster Management, Agriculture, FoodTech & Rural Development, Renewable and Sustainable Energy, Smart Education, Transportation and Logistics, Fitness & Sports and miscellaneous. Out of 143, 30 teams (25 shortlisted + 5 waitlisted) were selected for the next round.
 
It may be mentioned that the Smart India Hackathon is envisioned to promote innovation and out-of-the-box thinking among young minds and aimed to institutionalise a model for harnessing the creativity and technical expertise of millions of Indian students for the direct benefit of our great nation. Through Smart India Hackathon 2024 (SIH2024), the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC) tried to crowdsource solutions for improving governance and quality of life and provide young citizens with an opportunity to co-create and present innovative solutions to India’s pressing needs. SIH2024 published 65 hardware problem statements and 170 software problem statements. This competition is organised in two phases, out of which the first internal Hackathon phase is held in the institute and the second phase Grand Finale will be held in the nodal centre from anywhere in India. The entire programme was organised with the continual support of Dr Ravindra V Kshirsagar, Principal, GGITS, Dr Ashok Verma, Dean Computer Science and Engineering and the entire Gyan Ganga faculties. The event witnessed strong motivation by the GGITS management including Dr Rajneet Jain, Dr Pankaj Goyal, Apoorva Singhai and Vishesh Jain graced the event. Dr Ruchi Patel, Associate Professor, Computer Science and Engineering Department co-ordinated the programme as single point of contact for SIH 2024.
