WOMEN WIN ACCOLADES
It is a matter of great pride that Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme on Sunday mentioned and appreciated the efforts of members of Self Help Group (SHG) becoming self reliant through fish farming at Reservoir at village Raipura of Dindori Janpad.
At Raipura village, Sharda SHG group was formed by Livelihood Mission. Then on the guidance of fishery department of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, SHG members took up fishery. After formation of SHG members were informed in detail about the various technical and finer details required in fish farming. This experts of Krishi Vigyan Kendra guided the group members and under their guidance, members are earning profit.
The members of Sharda SHG were appreciated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for their endeavour. They thanked the Government for their help in making them progress through welfare schemes.
Sharda SHG Secretary Sumanvetu Dhumketu informed that before 2014 they were engaged in domestic work and at times used to work as construction labourers and their livelihood was dependent on it. In between the team of MP Livelihood Mission came to their village and motivated them to form Self Help Group then some women of the village gathered and formed Sharda Self Group. Sharda Dhurvey was made President and Suman Bhatti is Secretary. Mahabati, Kotmabai, Shankarvati, Phoolwati, Avanti Maravi, Shamsun, Nisha are members. In year 2018, Sharda SHG took the Raipura Reservoir on ‘Patta’ for 10 years.
Then they invested Rs 32,000 and left one lakh fish seedlings in this reservoir. Then they starting catching fished and started selling it in the local village market. Slowing they began earning profit. The members sell fish worth Rs 3,000 to Rs 4000 daily.
On January 26, then Collector Vikas Mishra arranged them shop adjacent to Fishery Department and they started running Didi Smart Fish Parlour. From this shop they started selling fishes very conveniently.
At a time 3-4 members are at shop selling fish and other members are engaged in catching the
fished and bringing it to shop for sale. All members are equal partner in the profit earned by the group.
