Documentary ‘The Jabalipuram’ produced by journalism students was awarded the best documentary. Rani Durgavati University Journalism Department won 02 awards in Mahakoshal Short Film Festival The documentary film 'The Jabalipuram', which preserves the past and present of Jabalpur, prepared by the students of the Department of Communication Studies and Research (Department of Journalism) of Rani Durgavati University, received second prize for the best documentary. Appreciating this achievement of the students of the Department of Journalism, Vice-Chancellor Professor Rajesh Kumar Verma, Registrar Professor Rajendra Kuraria presented the trophy and the citation and congratulated the teams who made the documentary film. Giving details about this achievement of the department’s students, Head of Journalism Department Professor Dhirendra Pathak said that under the guidance of Vice Chancellor Professor Verma, the students had included their own made films in the prestigious Mahakoshal Short Film Festival.
 
Out of 172 short films/documentaries, 80 were selected in various categories. In the prize distribution ceremony, in the presence of Chief Guest famous film actor, singer, director and Member of Parliament, Manoj Tiwari, Central Zone Incharge Hemant Muktibodh, famous director of Jabalpur, Vinod Tiwari, Jabalpur born and famous artist of Panchayat, Firangi Chaurasi Prateek Pachauri, Organizing Coordinator Dr. Pawan Sthaphak, Film Festival Committee Chairman, Prashant Karmveer, Secretary Anjani Jyotishi, 03 selected short documentary films of the students of Journalism Department were screened. MJC students Kamal Gupta, Ashutosh Raghuvanshi, Himanshu Bauddh, Kalyani Thakur, Akash Pandey, Irene Francis and BJC first year students Rimjhim Patel, Kirti, Diksha, Mohan, Abhay Choubey, Bhushan, Sanjay Agarwal who produced the best documentary were awarded on the stage of Mahakoshal Film Festival. Guest lecturer of Journalism Department Dr Sanjeev Srivastava, Dr Mohammad Javed, Dr Shailesh Prasad, Dr Pramod Pandey, Dr Mohanika Gajbhiye and all journalism students were present.
