S Krishna Chaitanya, Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation, conducted a comprehensive site inspection of the ongoing construction work for the Bhopal Metro Priority Corridor. The inspection covered both the Subhash Nagar Metro Station and the AIIMS Station, along with the Subhash Nagar Depot. Starting at the depot, Chaitanya reviewed the progress of the construction activities and then proceeded to inspect various stations along the route, including Subhash Nagar, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Board Office Square, MP Nagar, Rani Kamalapati, DRM Office, Alkapuri, and AIIMS.
At Subhash Nagar Station, special attention was given to the entry-exit arrangements through the Foot Over Bridge (FoB), with instructions issued for completing the work as soon as possible. During the inspection, the Managing Director discussed key aspects of the project, including facilities like escalators, lifts, ticketing rooms, and washrooms, and assessed their readiness. He urged the contractors and officials to expedite work on remaining tasks and ensure timely completion of all civil and system works, to ensure the metro can begin operations safely and on schedule. Senior officials from various departments and representatives from contractors were also part of the inspection, where Chaitanya stressed the importance of timely completion to maintain the project’s schedule.
