To review and expedite works of various departments, District Collector Dr Vipin Itankar has created a war room. Through this war-room, various projects under Collector in the district will be reviewed. This is for the first time that Collector has created such war-room. Usually Collector reviews the projects in a routine manner. Collector has fixed the responsibility of the respective departments to the officers.

 

The war room has Vikas Nagulkar, General Manager, Mahametro; Alpana Patne, Executive Engineer, Project-1, Nagpur Municipal Corporation; Representative (Class-I officer), Tribal Development; Prashant Bhandarkar, Executive Engineer, Nagpur Improvement Trust; Pandurang Pakhle, Assistant Conservator of Forest, Department of Forest; Representative (Class I officer), Railways; Vipul Jadhav, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Parishad; Representative (Class I), Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation; Representative (Class I), Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) as members while Additional Collector (Tushar Thombare) as Member Secretary. Dr Itankar told ‘The Hitavada’, “We expect every officer appointed in the war-room to furnish every single information of the ongoing or proposed projects of his or her department and put it in the meeting. I have taken this step to speed up the projects. Sometimes projects are delayed and we come to know the issues related to those later on. Through this meeting, we can have an idea of such problems those can be resolved immediately.

 

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has initiated an idea of 100-day plan. This war-room can immediately respond to it. It will help Government to speed up the works of district.” The meeting will be conducted at 12 noon on first and third Wednesday of every month at 12 noon at Bachat Bhavan. Meanwhile, Government has given additional responsibility of Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Maharashtra Airport Development Company to Dr Itnakar. Two days ago, he was named as Chairman and Managing Director of MIHAN India Limited (MIL) that runs Nagpur’s Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport. After getting charge, Dr Itankar immediately visited runway at city airport where the recarpetting work is going on.
