Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has described selling beef in State as an act of grave offense, stating that it deeply injures the sentiments of Sanatan dharm and disrupts social harmony. The Chief Minister warned those involved in cow smuggling to either reform their ways or leave Chhattisgarh, emphasising that such activities
will not be tolerated in State.
This development follows protests by cow protection groups after a significant quantity of beef was recovered from a house in Mominpara, adjacent to Badhaipara. The groups had alerted the police about alleged cow slaughter, leading to a raid on the premises.
During the raid, the police discovered multiple pieces of beef, meat-cutting equipment, scales, and a list of intended recipients. Three rooms in the house were reportedly being used for butchering beef. An auto parked near the house, found with bloodstains, was also seized. Six people have been arrested in connection with the case so far.
Among them, Samir Mandal, apprehended on-site, revealed during interrogation that he was involved in the sale of beef along with Khurshid Ali, Mohammad Muntazir Haider, Ashfaq Ali, Arman Haider, and Mohammad Irshad Qureshi. Based on this information, the police arrested the remaining accused. An FIR has been registered against all under the provisions of the Chhattisgarh Krishak Pashu Parirakshan Act, 2004. The incident has resulted in tension in the area, with youth and leaders from Hindu organizations gathering at Mominpara. To prevent further unrest, police force was deployed at the scene.
