police raided a gambling den, nabbed three bookies and seized cash of Rs 28,720, three mobile handsets and record of satta bookings amounting in lakhs of rupees. The arrested have been identified as Ramsevak Mishra alias Bitu Maharaj (38), resident of Ward No. 11, Majholi, Sunil alias Sonu Sahu (35), resident of Ward No. 8, Bazar Plot, Majholi and Deepak Dahiya (48), resident of Ward No. 8, Majholi.
SHO of Majholi police station, Jai Prakash Dwivedi informed that acting on a tip-off, a police team led by Sub-Inspector Prabhakar Singh, in charge of Rampur Outpost, along with personnel from the police line raided at Akash Koshta’s tea shop in Koshta Market, where three men were caught red-handed while writing
Satta bookings. Police have seized cash of Rs 28,720, three mobile handsets and records of Satta bookings from the spot. Majholi police have registered a case against the accused under Section 4(a) of Gambling Act while further investigations are underway. The raid was conducted by police team under the supervision of SHO, Jay Prakash Dwivedi led by Sub-Inspector Prabhakar Singh, comprising Head Constables Neeraj Tiwari, Abhishek Pandey, Sadik Ali, Constable Mukul Gautam (Police Line) and Head Constable Mukesh Singh, Constable Hemant Sharma from Majholi Police Station.
