Underlining the infrastructural growth and newly arrived prestigious institutions in the city, all the experts participating in the panel discussion held here on Saturday during the Central India Salesforce Hackathon and Mega Meet up (SFCI25) refused to call Nagpur a ‘Tier II’ city. On the contrary, they felt that Nagpur is one of the most livable cities in the country. Moreover, the experts representing industry and academia were firm on their view that the strategically located city will leave behind other cities like Mumbai Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai among others in coming days. Advisor, Mindzvue, Dr Manoj Chandak, Principal, Ramdeobaba University, and Rajashri Telharkar, Business Head, Confidence Petroleum, the panel explored the potential of IT companies in driving Nagpur’s IT growth, generating intriguing and thought-provoking responses that captivated the audience.Akash Singh moderated the event. “Nagpur has huge potential to grow as it has top class educational institutions. However, we need to tap the available talent,” Arvind Kumar said. Chandak highlighted the issues of low salary packages offered to the professionals in the city. “We need to see why people are migrating to other cities and come out with a solution for it,” he said. When asked whether artificial intelligence would take away jobs, Aditya Bhatia said technology never does that. “We have seen in the past that computers have created new opportunities. This will also happen with other technologies,” he added. Ashish Kulkarni said the youth should not have fear of losing their jobs. “But you should keep on upgrading your skills as it will alone help you survive,” he said. Earlier, the Central India’s biggest Salesforce event kicked off with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony, graced by dignitaries from the tech world. Followed by the hackathon.
