Gautam Adani, Chairman of Adani Group, is scheduled to arrive in Korba district on Sunday. According to the information, Gautam Adani will reach Raigarh on January 12 by a chartered plane. From there, he will travel to the Adani Power Limited plant located at Patadi in Korba via helicopter, where he will hold discussions with officials and inspect the plant. In September last year, Adani Power Limited acquired Lanco Amarkantak Power Limited. The plant is currently producing 600 megawatts (MW) of electricity. With the acquisition of Lanco, Adani Power Limited's power generation capacity in Chhattisgarh has increased to 2,570 MW. The company operates a thermal power plant with a capacity of 600 MW in Raigarh district and another 1,370 MW in Raipur district. Haryana and Madhya Pradesh Discoms through long-term power purchase agreements with Power Trading Corporation Limited. Lanco Amarkantak Power Limited had initiated an expansion work at Patadi. The expansion project aimed to install two units of 660 MW each with super-critical technology. The work on expansion units 3 and 4 is almost complete. However, the company fell into heavy debt and went bankrupt. It is reported that Adani Power Limited is now resuming work on bringing the 1,320 MW capacity units into operation under the expansion project. Once the expansion is completed, Adani Power Limited's power generation capacity in Chhattisgarh will rise to 3,890 MW. It is important to mention that Lanco had a long-term fuel supply agreement with South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), securing 2.784 million tonnes (MT) of coal annually for the operation of the power plant. The National Company Law Tribunal in Hyderabad had approved Adani Power Limited’s plan to acquire Lanco Amarkantak Power Limited for Rs 4,101 crore. Earlier, on March 27, 2024, the Competition Commission
