In a surprise inspection of the evening OPD at Dr Kailashnath Katju Hospital, doctors found absent from their duties have faced disciplinary action. On Saturday, at 5 pm, Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Dr Prabhakar Tiwari conducted an inspection to assess the evening medical arrangements at the hospital. During the inspection, some doctors were found absent, while others arrived late for their duties. The doctors who were absent from duty were issued a show-cause notices, and one day’s salary has been deducted from their pay. The doctors found absent during the evening
OPD were Dr Shashi Kawade (Gynaecologist), Dr Kirti Dale (Gynaecologist), Dr Sujata Janwade (Paediatrician), Dr Pratibha Raikwar, Dr Vaibhav Modi and Dr Kamna Srivastava. On the other hand, Dr Surabhi Kuhikar and Dr Pramod Patel
were present on time for their duties. CMHO Dr Prabhakar Tiwari stated that Civil Hospital Dr Kailashnath Katju is being operated as a model hospital for maternal and child health services. It is essential for doctors and paramedical staff to be present during the hospital’s designated working hours to ensure timely medical care for patients. During the inspection, a few doctors were found to have reported late, and others were absent. The ongoing inspections will continue in the future, and if the response to the show-cause notice is unsatisfactory or if there is no improvement in the work procedure, disciplinary action will be proposed to the senior office authorities.
