Renowned artists Pankaj Kapur, Nitish Bharadwaj, Makrand Deshpande and Sharman Joshi to perform live in the Indimoons Arts Festival, a six-day celebration of art, literature, theatre, and cinema, which will start on March 4 at the Hansdhwani Auditorium of Ravindra Bhavan, Bhopal.
Dedicated to the late theatre veteran Alok Chatterjee, the festival is being organised by Rang Theatre, a cultural group, with support from the Madhya Pradesh Department of Culture.
Prominent figures from the world of theatre and cinema will grace the stage with live performances. The festival organisers, including Bijoy Mandal, Balendra Singh, Manoj Joshi, Mukul Tripathi, Yogendra Singh Rajput and Hariom Tiwari announced that the performances will commence at 7 pm each evening.
On March 4, the festival will open with the staging of Chakravyuh, a play written and directed by Atul Satya Kaushik and performed by veteran actor Nitish Bharadwaj.
Written in rhymed verses, the play depicts the events of the thirteenth day of the Mahabharata. Additionally, the popular play Karna and Madhav, written by Kulwinder Bakshi, will delve into the untold stories of the Mahabharata.
On March 5, Makrand Deshpande will take the stage with his critically acclaimed play Sarla, which he has written, directed, and will perform alongside Aahana Kumra.
The play explores the relationships between a professor and his students.
On the third day, film actor Sharman Joshi will perform in Raju Raja Ram aur Main, a play directed by Kedar Shinde.
This comedic drama revolves around
themes of love, betrayal, and confusion, blending humour with wit. On March 7, veteran actor Pankaj Kapur will perform in Dophari, a stage adaptation of his own novel. Kapur will narrate the story while bringing it to life on stage with his exceptional acting skills. On March 8, Mumbai-based contemporary experimental Euphony Band, known for their appearances on shows like Dil Hai Hindustani and India’s Got Talent, will perform at the festival. Last day on March 9, the festival will conclude with a live performance by India’s first indigenous band Euphoria, led by Palash Sen. The performance will take place at the open-air stage of Ravindra Bhavan. Art lovers and theatre enthusiasts can look forward to a captivating blend of performances at this cultural extravaganza.
