State Election Commissioner Ajay Singh held a virtual meeting with District Election Officers (DEOs) at the office of the State Election Commission Nava Raipur Atal Nagar on Saturday.
In the meeting, preparations for the civic bodies elections and three-tier Panchayat elections were discussed in detail.
State Election Commissioner Ajay Singh directed that separate appointments should be made regarding the appointment of Returning Officer (RO) and Assistant Returning Officer (ARO) for civic bodies and three-tier panchayats elections in the state.
Along with this, it was asked to ensure the final publication of the electoral roll for the election process on January 15. For this, instructions were given to make all necessary preparations within the time limit.
First Level Checking (FLC) of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), which would be used in the elections, was also discussed in detail in the meeting. StateElection Commissioner Singh said that preparations are being made to conduct the civic bodies elections through EVMs.
He said that an officer-in-charge should be appointed for
FLC and necessary staff should be made available for this work.
He said that information about the FLC programme should be made available in writing to the representatives of all recognized political parties in the district and it should be ensured that the FLC process starts on time every day and is completed by the scheduled date.
Secretary of State Election Commission Dr Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure, Collector and DEOs, Deputy Secretary Dr Neha Kapoor, Dr Anupriya Mishra, Alok Kumar Shrivastava, Deputy DEOs, Sub Divisional Magistrates and other officers were present in the meeting.
