In a joint operation, Sukhi Sewania Police personnel successfully apprehended a driver involved in cow smuggling, while another smuggler managed to flee. The arrested driver, identified as Akbar, was caught transporting 38 cows in a truck from Ashoknagar to Budhwara. Upon inspection, the police discovered that 36 of the cows were alive, while 2 were found dead. The 36 surviving cows were safely transferred to Jeevdaya Gaushala for proper care. Among the recovered cattle, there were 17 cows and 21 calves/bulls.
One cow and one calf were found dead inside the truck. According to Sub-Inspector B L Katariya, the police received information from an informer at 5 am on Saturday that a cow smuggling operation was underway. Acting on the tip-off, the police reached the spot and arrested the driver, Akbar, while his accomplice, Shahrukh, managed to escape.
The arrested driver was presented in court, and a case was filed against him. The Sukhi Sewania Police are interrogating the driver, Anwar, for further details. The truck owner has also been contacted, and the police are following up on his involvement in the crime. Further investigation is underway to track down the fleeing smuggler. The recovered cattle have been sent to the Gaushala for proper care and protection.
