As part of the ‘Active Case Finding’ campaign aimed at eliminating tuberculosis (TB) by 2025, special health camps were conducted at various old age homes in Bhopal. The screenings primarily focused on high-risk groups, including individuals exhibiting TB symptoms, those with a previous history of TB, and individuals who have had contact with TB patients. The health camps were organised at Yashoda Old Age Home (Priyadarshini Nagar), Apna Ghar Old Age Home (Rohit Nagar), Kamal Basant Old Age Home (Kolar Road), Anand Dham Old Age Home (Shivaji Nagar), Apna Ghar Old Age Home (Indrapuri), Asra Old Age Home (Shahjahanabad), and New Pratap Shiksha Samiti (Awadhpuri). A total of 287 individuals received health check-ups during these camps.

Among them, 227 individuals had samples collected for further testing. Along with TB screening, the health camps also included checks for hypertension and diabetes. The residents of the old age homes were connected with nearby healthcare facilities for follow-up care, medications, and treatment. Ayushman Cards and ABHA IDs were also created for the participants. Dr. Prabhakar Tiwari, Chief Medical and Health Officer of Bhopal, stated that the government aims to eliminate TB by 2025 as per the directive from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He added that the Active Case Finding Campaign is focused on ensuring healthcare services for high-risk populations, starting with old age homes. Additional health camps for other high-risk groups will be organised in the future.
