Member of Parliament Ashish Dubey inaugurated Indigo’s new flight service from Jabalpur to Hyderabad, on Wednesday. The flight is an addition to the existing service already operating between the two cities.
State Public Works Department Minister Rakesh Singh was also present during the inauguration ceremony. The new flight was welcomed at Dumna Airport with a water cannon salute.
MP Dubey handed the boarding pass to the first flyer of the new service and welcomed arriving passengers with flowers.
He informed that at present, a daily flight already operates between Jabalpur and Hyderabad, departing from Jabalpur in the morning and returning from Hyderabad in the evening. Introduction of this new flight enhances air connectivity from Jabalpur to southern cities.
He said the new service will operate three times a week i.e. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
It will arrive in Jabalpur at 4 pm and depart for Hyderabad 20 minutes later. An ATR 72 aircraft with a seating capacity of 78 will operate on this route. MP Dubey highlighted that the new flight will provide convenience to passengers, facilitating easier connections from Hyderabad to Chennai, Bengaluru and other cities of southern India. Likewise, it will improve connectivity to international destinations through other cities.
Expressing hope, Dubey stated that in near future, flights from Jabalpur to other cities across the country would commence, with additional flights to Delhi and Mumbai.
He assured continuous efforts in this direction. Those present were MLA Abhilash Pandey, newly appointed
BJP City President Ratnesh Sonkar, Abhay Singh Thakur and a number of party
workers.
