Teachers, principal have pleaded for additional classrooms and need for building boundary wall

The Primary and Middle School being run in Kumurdhu under Mudariya village panchayat is facing acute shortage of classrooms and it is affecting the teaching. Further, the school does not have proper boundary wall behind the premises near a pond which poses risk of an accident. The School Principal concerned with the risk of an accident, along school teachers have sent many letters in this regard to senior government officials but still no action has been taken. The school is running in three rooms and one additional room where along with Mid Day Meal kitchen, scrap has also been stored.

The student from class 1-8th study in these rooms. The classes of little children are run in the additional room near the kitchen and which also poses risk of accidents. School Principal Rekha Upadhyay informed that till last academic session classes from 6 to 8 were being run in this building hence there was no shortage of classrooms but now primary school has been merged in this school and now shortage of classroom has rose. The boundary wall behind school has not been built and it is adjacent to the pond the students go behind the school near the pond which is very risky. Many anti-social elements enter the school campus as there is no boundary wall and create nuisances. Primary School principal Mithilesh Maravi informed that on June 30, 2023 the primary school situated in the village partially collapsed. Then on the order of Assistant Commissioner, primary school is now being run in this middle school. 48 students are enrolled in primary school and 28 are in Middle School.

More classrooms are required. At times, classes are run in office room also. Teachers inform to that the hand pump in the school campus for students is now of no use as impure water is coming out. Teachers informed the govt officials that water supply to entire village under Nal Jal Yojna is being operated from this school campus as borewll. But no safety measures has been taken as often wires are seen hanging loose and switch boards are not properly placed. In view of large number of students playing in the campus it is essential that entire water supply system setup should be secured well so that students does not touch the electric motor pumps and other machinery.
