State Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Prahlad Patel laid the foundation stone for a bridge over Pariyat River in Mahgawan Pipariya, under Panagar Assembly constituency, on Friday. The bridge, approved under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, will be constructed at a cost of Rs 8 crore. Addressing a huge gathering on the occasion, Patel said the development of basic amenities in rural areas is a top priority for the government. He urged public representatives and officials of Panchayats to bring vital issues to the government’s attention to ensure justice and essential services for the local public. He recalled about the former Prime Minister, Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, acknowledging his significant contributions to rural development.

He highlighted that the inception of rural road networks began under Vajpayee’s leadership, making the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana his lasting legacy. The State Minister while informing about the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts in providing permanent homes to the homeless, an achievement even developed nations like the United States have not attained. Expressing views, Member of Parliament Ashish Dubey congratulated the locals on the upcoming bridge. He credited the ongoing development projects in the area to the people’s trust in their representatives, who are consistently working for the public’s welfare. Dubey said that since the Bharatiya Janata Party took power in 2003, the State has witnessed transformative development, with an extensive network of roads and the construction of four-lane highways replacing previously inaccessible areas. Senior public representatives, officials and people were present on the occasion.
