“We need to bring science behind our traditions, culture, and values in front of younger generation, so that we can re-establish our lost community values that were deleted by British,’’ said Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of the State while speaking at the publication ceremony of the second edition of Mukul Kanitkar’s book ‘Banaye Jivan Pranvaan’ held at Suresh Bhat Auditorium on Friday.
Abhinav Shankar Bharati Mahaswami, 72nd Pithadhishewar, Shrimad Jagadguru Sahankaracharya, Kudali Shungeri Mahasansthan; Mukul Kanitkar, author; and Devendra Pawar, Publisher were present prominently for the programme.
“The eternal thoughts of our traditions are as pure as the Ganga’s flow, embodying both ancient and renewing elements. Just as one feels purity and vitality in the Ganga's waters, the values, ideas, and consciousness derived from our culture and traditions must be reinstated and revitalised,” Devendra Fadnavis added.
Abhinav Shankar Bharati Mahaswami, in his address, shed a light on everyday practices in Indian daily life that has scientific basis. He gave example of womenfolk asking him to wash his hands and legs by water, a usual practice that has a scientific background. He also said that the traditions imparts useful knowledge unknowingly.
Mukul Kanitkar, author of the book, explained the concept of ‘Pran’, an inner energy that flows through everyone. He said that this book is a package that will help reader to experience the ‘Pranvidya’. He also said that every tradition in Indian culture is scientific and nothing is blind faith.
At the onset, Devendra Pawar made the introductory remarks. Anchal Shrivastava conducted the proceedings of the event.
