Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Nagpur Kendra, conducted a felicitation function for Grenadier Yogendra Singh Yadav, PVC, the youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra, at Bhavan’s Sanskritik Kendra, Koradi, on Saturday. Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan honoured Grenadier Yadav for his exceptional valour during the Kargil War. Grenadier Yadav displayed the most conspicuous courage, indomitable gallantry, grit and determination under extremely adverse circumstances during the war. The contingent of 3 Maharashtra Engineers Company, NCC, Bhavan’s B P Vidya Mandir, Srikrishna Nagar, accorded a general salute to the guest. The programme included a visit to the Sanskritik Kendra, a cultural centre dedicated to preserving Indian heritage and fostering patriotism.
 
Grenadier Yadav explored Ramayana Darshanam, featuring 120 paintings illustrating key episodes from Shri Ram’s life, from his birth to his coronation and Bharata Mata Sadanam showcasing 115 paintings of India’s freedom fighters, 21 paintings of Param Vir Chakra Awardees and 14 paintings depicting our freedom struggle. The Bhavan’s Sanskritik Kendra also has 37 divine sculptures decorated on the outer walls spreading the aura of divinity around. Grenadier Yadav had all praise for Bhavan Sanskritik Kendra, acknowledging its remarkable contribution to preserving and promoting the rich cultural and artistic heritage of the region.
 
Grenadier Yadav appreciated the vision behind the centre’s establishment, emphasising its role as a hub for cultural enrichment and community engagement. The brave warrior, in his interaction with the NCC cadets, advised them to instil values of discipline, team work, dedication and bravery. He was thrilled and honoured to recall his memories with few of the Param Vir Chakra recipients. He urged today’s youth to join the armed forces and contribute towards the nation’s progress. The dignitaries who graced the occasion were Rajendra Purohit, Dr Sunanda Sonarikar, Dr Vinay Nangia, Annapoorni Shastri, T L Raja, Vijay Thakre, Swapneel Giradkar, Principals Leena Varghese, Lalit Dinkar Joshi, Vandana Bisen, Parwati Iyer, Sarbani Bose, Raji Srinivasan, Kirti Mishra and Kishor Hajare.
