On the first day of the New Year, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai held a high-level meeting with secretaries and heads of all departments at the Mantralaya in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar. In his address, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for transparency in government functioning and called for the prompt and effective resolution of public grievances.
Issuing a stern warning, Chief Minister Sai said, “Any laxity in administrative work will not be tolerated.” He directed all officers and employees, from senior officials to lower-level staff, to adhere to strict punctuality and fulfil their responsibilities with dedication and efficiency.
Highlighting the state’s vision for development, the Chief Minister urged the officers to work cohesively with a team
spirit to achieve the goal of a developed Chhattisgarh. Referring to the fulfilment of major guarantees made by Narendra Modi in 2024, he remarked on the significance of 2025 as the state’s silver jubilee year.
“This landmark year requires exceptional enthusiasm and commitment from every officer,” he added. The CM instructed officials to conduct special campaigns to clear pending files. He emphasized the smooth implementation of the e-office system across all government offices, including the Secretariat. In a bid to ensure accountability, Sai announced that he would personally review the work of all departments and directed departmental secretaries to conduct monthly virtual reviews and quarterly physical reviews. Officers were asked to address challenges in implementing major schemes promptly and report these to Chief Secretary and Principal Secretary. “It is essential to resolve the issues of the common man on time,” he said, adding that the administration should focus on improving ease of living and ease of doing business. Praising the Chhattisgarh Industrial Policy 2024-2030, the CM noted its nationwide acclaim and called for ensuring that investors reap its benefits. He also stressed the need to strengthen the law and order situation in the state. Sai highlighted the state government’s achievements on the Naxal front over the past year, crediting efforts to establish peace in Naxal-affected areas.
“Government schemes must reach these areas, especially under the Niyad Nella Naar scheme,” he said. He also instructed departments to expedite projects in these regions and ensure the work in newly opened security camps is completed swiftly. The CM directed District In-Charge Secretaries to visit their districts every two months, particularly the interior areas, to gather ground-level information. He stressed the importance of reporting their findings to the Chief Secretary and Principal Secretary to ensure effective implementation of schemes. Sai also expressed concern over rising road accidents and called for stringent measures to improve traffic management.
He urged officers to launch a campaign to reduce accidents and strictly curb the smuggling of intoxicants from other states into Chhattisgarh. The meeting concluded with a call for administrative tightness and collective effort to make 2025 a transformative year for the state. “Let us work together to build a progressive and peaceful Chhattisgarh,” the CM said, urging all officers to uphold the highest standards of governance.
