An elderly woman who got lost in Jabalpur was safely reunited with her family thanks to the quick response of the Dial-112 service. On the night of December 31, 2024, at 6:28 PM, a distress call was received by the state-level Police Control Room in Bhopal, reporting that an elderly woman had lost her way in the Vijay Nagar area of Jabalpur. Immediately, a Dial-112 vehicle was dispatched to the area to assist.
Dial-112 staff, including Constable Ashish Baghel and Pilot Santosh Kushwaha, started a search and found the elderly woman.
Upon questioning, the woman, Sita Yadav (60), wife of Baburam Yadav, informed that she was from Mhow, Indore, and had come to Jabalpur to visit her daughter and son-in-law, Kumar Anand son of Baleshwar Yadav, resident of Vijay Nagar, Jabalpur. She explained that after taking a walk from her daughter’s house, she become lost.
The Dial-112 team contacted the Vijay Nagar police station, which confirmed that the woman’s family had already reported her missing. After gathering the necessary information, the Dial-112 staff contacted the woman’s relatives and brought them to the location. Following a positive identification, the woman was safely handed over to her family. The woman’s family expressed their gratitude towards the Dial-112 service and the police staff for their swift action in ensuring her safe return.
