DURG,
Accidents due to banned Chinese Manjha are happening in regular basis in Durg-Bhilai. On Saturday another accident occurred in Bhilai township area due to the banned Chinese Manjha where a woman sweeper sustained injuries in her hand. Later, she had to be taken to Supela hospital for treatment. This is the third accident due to Chinese Manjha in Bhilai city.
It needs a mention here that Chinese Manjha is banned in the State. Despite this, Chinese Manjha is being sold secretly in Durg-Bhilai. The administration is not able to stop the sale of Chinese Manjha. Due to this, accidents are happening on regular basis.
During treatment, Chaiti Bai told that she was doing cleaning work in the morning. During garbage collection, suddenly a kite got cut from somewhere and fell on her. It had a Chinese
manjha (string). She started removing the manjha from herself. Meanwhile, a bike rider passed by and the manjha got stuck in it and pulled. The woman’s hand got cut due to the pulling of the manjha. Later other sanitation workers took Chaiti Bai to the hospital.
It may be noted that this is the third accident due to Chinese manjha in Bhilai city alone. At the same time, this is the second incident within a week. Four days ago, Firoz Khan, a resident of Faridnagar, was going on his bike over the Power House flyover bridge. Then a flying kite came in his face and he got cut near his nose and eye.
Likewise, about 21 days ago, Rameshwar Bele, a resident of Housing Board Kohka, had his throat slit. On December 26, Bele had gone to Sector 7 on a bike with his wife Neetu. He was returning home from there in the evening. When he reached near Supela Laxmi Market, suddenly a kite came flying and its Manjha got stuck in his throat and his throat got slit. Later, he was treated at Sparsh Hospital.
