Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav has emphasised that Ayurveda holds the key to achieving the goal of living a hundred years, and the principle of ‘Jivet Sharad: Shatam’ (living a hundred autumns) can be realised through this ancient science. He stated that Ayurveda is the authentic path to living a better life at every stage of age. According to him, nature itself provides remedies for all ailments, and Ayurveda has the most profound knowledge and capability to apply these remedies effectively. By understanding plants and the power of yoga, individuals can follow the path to good health. Dr Yadav praised Ayurveda as a tradition that is thousands of years old, and acknowledged the global interest in this system, with India acting as its ambassador.

He also credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for playing a pivotal role in expanding the scope of this traditional knowledge globally. The Chief Minister invited everyone to the next Ayurveda Festival, Simhastha 2028, which will be organised in Ujjain by the State Government. Dr Yadav made these remarks during the inaugural session of the 21st Ayurveda Festival-2025 on Monday. Dr Yadav also announced the launch of 11 new Ayurvedic colleges in the State. As per the New Education Policy, the State Government has granted universities permission to offer various courses, including Ayurvedic and medical courses. The Government will also facilitate the introduction of paramedical and nursing courses in Ayurveda.

The registration of Ayush-related clinics and nursing homes will be managed by the Ayush department. Furthermore, the retirement age for Ayush Department employees will be raised to 65 years, similar to the Health Department. An All-India Ayurvedic Institute will also be set up in Ujjain. The Chief Minister highlighted that the State Government will support the establishment of Ayurvedic product manufacturing units. Land will be provided to Ayurvedic institutions for permanent structures in Ujjain for Simhastha, and the state government will assist in the establishment of an international Vedic court in the city. Additionally, arrangements will be made for the teaching of Unani medicine in Hindi. Dr Yadav took pride in stating that Madhya Pradesh is the first State in the country to implement the River Linking Campaign.

He also mentioned that former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee’s vision of river linking is being realised with an investment of Rs 1.75 lakh crore sanctioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
