RAIPUR,
The Chhattisgarh State Power Transmission Company (CSPTCL) has received two prestigious national awards at the 25th Regulatory and Policy Makers Retreat organised by the Independent Power Producers of India in Belgaum, Karnataka.
The awards were presented to Managing Director (Transco) Rajesh Kumar Shukla by the Chairman of State Power Companies, Subodh Kumar Singh, on January 15. Chhattisgarh’s newly-appointed Principal Secretary of Energy, Subodh Kumar Singh, congratulated all officers and employees of the transmission company on this achievement. Out of 35 State load dispatch centres across India, including states and union territories, Chhattisgarh’s State Load Dispatch Centre (SLDC) received the Outstanding Achievement Award and the First Runner-up Award in the Second Easiest Access to Open Access category.
The award evaluation process involved submitting data related to open access applications over the past five years, including the number of applications received, accepted, rejected, pending, and processing time. Additional information on SLDC administration and self-governance, financial accounts, five-year CAPEX plans, and SCADA communication medium was also
required. For the past three years, following notification from the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission, the Chhattisgarh SLDC has used the National Open Access Registry (NOAR) portal for inter-state open access procedures.
This system ensures transparent display of the acceptance process status for inter-state open access applications at various levels, including SLDC, Regional Load Dispatch Centre (RLDC), and National Load Dispatch Centre (NLDC).
Representatives from central and state electricity regulatory commissions, central and state-level institutions (such as the Central Electricity Authority, APTELs, CERC), load dispatch centers, state undertakings, and various private companies attended the ceremony. The Chhattisgarh SLDC achieved this recognition under the leadership of RK Shukla, Managing Director of the Transmission Company. KS Manothia, Executive Director, and Abhishek Jain, Superintending Engineer of the SLDC, received the awards on behalf of the Chhattisgarh State Transmission Company in Belgaum.
