The Jabalpur Municipal Corporation (JMC) has added two state-of-the-art pothole repair machines and 12 new CNG tipper trucks to its fleet. The introduction of these machines will expedite road repair works and will save both time and labour. Likewise, the CNG tipper trucks will contribute to cleanliness and air quality improvement efforts. Mayor Jagat Bahadur Singh along with Mayor-in-Council members and Municipal Commissioner Preeti Yadav flagged off the new vehicles and machines, from JMC headquarters, on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Singh said the machines, costing a total of Rs 3.10 crore, including 12 CNG tipper trucks worth Rs 1 crore and two pothole repair machines, purchased for Rs 2.10 crore will enhance road maintenance efforts and ensure pothole-free roads. He said these advanced machines will streamline road repair processes, save time and labour. Municipal Commissioner, Yadav informed that the advanced pothole repair machines are built on an 18-ton GVW truck chassis. These machines are capable of cleaning potholes with air pressure, coating them with emulsion and mixing it with aggregates (6 to 12 mm in size) for immediate repair. This ensures smooth traffic flow right after the repairs. The machines come with a 950-liter asphalt emulsion tank and a 4.5 cubic meter hopper. They include an integrated nozzle for precise spray application at designated pressures. Likewise, the machines have automatic functions for heating and mixing emulsion at the appropriate temperature. Lighting systems are also included for night-time repair work. Likewise, the 12 CNG-powered tipper vehicles from IDBI Bank will be used for city cleanliness arrangements.
