Committing fast track development, Maharashtra’s Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule said, “We are pushing 29 projects for Nagpur and all will be comleted in a time-bound manner. After every 15 days, we will review these projects. The projects will be initiated by involving all the agencies including Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT), Nagpur Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (NMRDA).” Bawankule was speaking to mediapersons during ‘Meet The Press’ at Patrakar Club of Nagpur on Thursday. Bawankule is handling the responsibility of Bharatiya Janata Party’s State Presidentship plus he has been made Guardian Minister for Nagpur and Amravati districts. He convened a meeting in Mumbai wherein the projects of Nagpur too were discussed.

Shifting of Central Jail

“We are providing Rs 1,000 crore to NMC for the shifting of Central Jail. The land admeasuring 150 acre between Babhulkheda and Chicholi has been identified for Central Jail. Considering its distance from the city, especially from court, we are mulling over installing a system by which court matters can be handled on-line. Police won’t have to carry an inmate to the court. But we are firm on shifting the jail,” asserted Bawankule.

Separate PWD Bhawan

There is a plan of redevelopment of present Collectorate. District administration has been asked to submit proposal for appointment of two Additional Collectors. This will ease the load of Collector. Fadnavis Government had planned for one Police Bhavan which came into existence. Now all the offices of senior police officers have come in one premises. Similarly, all the offices of Public Works Department (PWD) will be housed in one ‘PWD Bhavan’. MLA Hostel will be given facelift. There will be separate quarters for IAS/IPS officers. Bawankule has also planned for new type of building for Nag Bhavan whose bungalows are allotted to Ministers of State. The present Nag Bhavan will be demolished and in its place, a vertical tower will be erected.

Housing for journalists

Bawankule assured that modern offices of Guardian Ministers would be set up in Amravati and Nagpur. Within a week, a meeting would be convened with Divisional Commissioner for housing for journalists in Nagpur and Amravati. Secondly, Bawankule promised a good redevelopment plan for present Press Club in Nagpur.

Deekshabhoomi issue

Bawankule emphasised his commitment to resolving long-pending issues related to Deekshabhoomi. “The dispute related to Deekshabhoomi including the difference within the Committee too would be sorted out. A comprehensive development plan for Ramtek is also under consideration,” Bawankule informed mediapersons. Bawankule praised Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis as a strong leader and said that under his leadership, Maharashtra would reach to a new height.

‘BJP workers to be appointed as OSDs to every minister’

A BJP worker will be appointed as a Officer on Special Duty (OSD) for each minister. To a question of whether a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh worker will be appointed as a Officer on Special Duty for each minister, Bawankule said, BJP party workers made many promises to the people during the election period. To fulfill them, a BJP worker will be appointed as a Officer on Special Duty for each minister. Every 15 days, the minister will hold a Janata Darbar at the party office. While the minister will stay in one district every 15 days. Through this, efforts will be made to solve the problems of the people.

To a query, Bawankule said, “We will not allow entry for those who come for power. Decision will be taken only after discussion of three leaders -- Devendra Fadnavis, Ajit Pawar and Eknath Shinde. Leaders who come with the ruling parties only for power will not be given direct entry into the Mahayuti. Any party entry in the Mahayuti will be done strategically to strengthen the alliance without causing internal harm. Individuals who contested against the alliance or rebelled during elections will only be readmitted to the BJP after thorough discussions.
