GOTEGAON (Narsinghpur), Jan 24 Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav announced a liquor ban in 17 religious cities of the State. He said that all types of liquor shops will be locked in these religious cities. The CM said that we are going to take a decision during the Cabinet meeting to be held in the religious city of Maheshwar on Friday. The initiative, titled ‘Destination Cabinet’, aims to promote holistic development of the State while honouring 300th birth anniversary of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar. After the CM’s statement, it is believed that in the Cabinet meeting, a decision will be taken to liquor ban in religious cities of the State.
 
The CM graced the concluding ceremony of National Kabaddi Tournament in Gotegaon, Narsinghpur, on Thursday. Making another big announcement, he said that in the coming time Kabaddi League will be organised in the State. On the occasion, Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav inaugurated and performed bhoomipujan of 24 works worth Rs 93.21 crore in Gotegaon. These include inauguration of 5 construction works worth Rs 16.78 crore and bhoomipujan of 19 construction works worth Rs 76.43 crore. It may be mentioned that during the tenure of the then Chief Ministers Uma Bharti, Babulal Gaur and Shivraj Singh Chouhan, 17 cities of the State have been declared holy cities. In this regard, the Government had also decided to impose many restrictions here, but it has not been implemented.
