Organ donation is the gift of life through an organ to a person with last stage organ disease and who needs transplant for therapeutic purpose. The donors who donate their organs to ensure a life after life, also need to be treated with due respect and honour.
Following the same, the district administration with the administration of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College, made all arrangements to ensure a respectful farewell to the holy soul who gifted life to two persons after leaving for his heavenly abode.
Jabalpur Collector Deepak Saxena told the newspaper that “As per rules, last rites of an organ donor should be performed with full honours. Hence, we contacted the Sagar Collector to make arrangements for the same, as according to the family’s wish, they wanted to perform the last rites of Baliram Kushwahaji at their native village Kanera Gaud located in Sagar district.
The Sagar Collector assured us to do the needful by assigning an ADM level officer as nodal officer.” Back in Jabalpur, the district administration with the NSCBMC administration made all arrangements to send the body of Baliram Kushwaha to his native in Sagar. Dean, NSCBMC, Dr Navneet Saxena informed that as a part of the activities to promote organ donation, the Government has decided to organise funeral of organ donors by conducting the final rites with full honour.
A specially abled priest late Baliram Kushwaha showed the society the value of life even after death by saving two precious lives by donating his heart and liver. He was declared brain dead after meeting with an accident on January 21, 2025.
The district administration created two green corridors to ensure smooth transport of his organs to the State Capital Bhopal and Indore on Thursday.
Dean Dr Saxena informed that after retrieving both the organ\s, mortal remains of the organ donor Baliram Kushwaha were respectfully sent to his residence Kanera Gaud, Sagar, Madhya Pradesh through the hospital vehicle after decorating his hearse with flowers and expressing heartfelt thanks to his family members.
