The municipal corporation continues its efforts to address the issue of stray animals wandering on roads and public places. As a part of this ongoing initiative, the Gaudhan Project team of the corporation carried out a special drive on Friday based on complaints received through the CM Helpline and other channels.
During the drive, 32 stray animals roaming freely in various areas of the city were caught and sent to Kanji House. Additionally, 23 animals were sent to Jeevdaya Gaushala, and 2 animals were admitted to Asara Shelter. The Hanka Party, tasked with managing stray animals, took action on 10 animals.
Acting on the instructions of Municipal Commissioner Harendra Narayan, the team conducted operations in areas such as Nehru Nagar, Awadhpuri, Ratibad, Arera Colony, Neelbad, Gandhi Nagar, Airport Road, and Jail Road.
The operation resulted in the relocation of 32 stray animals to Kanji House, 23 to Jeevdaya Gaushala, and 2 to Asara. The Hanka Party ensured the rounding up of 10 other stray animals during the drive. The municipal corporation has reiterated its commitment to managing the issue of stray animals to ensure public safety and welfare.
