In an inspection visit on Friday, S Krishna Chaitanya, IAS, Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation, reviewed the ongoing construction work under the Bhopal Metro Priority Corridor, which includes the AIIMS, Alkapuri, DRM Office, and Rani Kamalapati stations. During the inspection, he emphasised the need to complete the remaining work at the stations as soon as possible, ensuring that the metro services commence safely and on schedule.
Chaitanya closely examined both the internal and external work at the Rani Kamalapati Metro Station and instructed officials to expedite the pending tasks. He also discussed the project’s structural quality, safety standards, station design, and aesthetics, urging timely completion to ensure a smooth launch of the metro services.
Chaitanya held a review meeting at the
Metro office with all contractors to assess the progress of construction activities on the Bhopal Metro Corridor and instructed them to complete the tasks within the stipulated timelines.
The inspection began with a visit to the AIIMS station, where the entry-exit gates on both sides of the AIIMS Hospital and BDA Colony/Complex were examined. Chaitanya also inspected the ongoing work at Alkapuri and DRM Office stations, reiterating the urgency of completing the remaining tasks promptly.
The inspection covered
essential areas for Metro operations, including key rooms at the concourse level such as the system room, telecom equipment room, signalling room, station control room, auxiliary sub-station (ASS), ticket room, and storage areas.
The platform level inspection focused on the track, sheds (PEB), and third rail.
The inspection involved senior officials such as Shobhit Tandon, Director (Systems), Ajay Gupta, Director (Projects), Sanjay Singh, General Manager (Civil), N D Shakya, General Manager (E&M), along with officials
from various departments, general consultants, and representatives from metro construction contractors.
