On the occasion of the 15th National Voter’s Day, a district level programme was organised in the auditorium of BIT Durg.
On this occasion, Divisional Commissioner Satyanarayan Rathore administered the oath of Voter’s Day to the voters.
Addressing the program, Divisional Commissioner Satyanarayan Rathore said that the purpose of National Voter’s Day is to increase the participation of voters in the country and strengthen democracy. He said that we have to strengthen democracy by being responsible citizens.
The strength and success of our democracy is possible only when every citizen uses his right and participates in the electoral process. He appealed to vote cent percent in the upcoming urban body and three-tier elections and contribute to strengthening democracy.
Superintendent of Police Jitendra Shukla said that the objective of National Voter’s Day is to make people aware about voting and tell new voters about its utility. Democracy is the rule of the people, by the people and for the people. Every citizen has the right to vote and should take it seriously.
At the end of the program, Additional Collector and Deputy District Election Officer Vijendra Singh proposed the vote of thanks. He informed that urban body and three-tier panchayat elections will be conducted through EVM machine. Votes have to be cast for the mayor, chairman and councilor.
On the occasion, ADM Arvind Ekka, Assistant Collector M Bhargava along with departmental officers and college students were present.
