VIDARBHA’S
has been selected in India’s squad for the 50+ Veteran’s World Cup to be held in Sri Lanka in February, informs a Vidarbha Veteran Cricket Association (VVCA) press release.
The mega event that is held every two years, will be organised from February 9-23.
As many as 14 nations including India, Pakistan, England, Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, West Indies, South Africa, UAE, USA, Wales, Zimbabwe, Canada and Namibia will be taking part in the World Cup.
The Indian selection trials were held in October, 2024 in Noida. Known faces like Pravin Tambe, Iqbal Khan, Mandar Fadke and Rajgopalan are also in the Indian squad. India will open their campaign against the Aussies.
In the 2023 edition, Nagpur’s Makarand Kulkarni represented India.
Shinde has been congratulated by VVCA President Kulkarni, Abhijeet Deshpande, Sarang Degwekar, Samir Sahasrabudhe and Anant Narle.
