Gadkari stressed on ending the issue of connectivity of emerging areas on Southern tip of the city, beyond Manish Nagar, which is Besa, Beltarodi, Pipla and Ghogli with Wardha Road

To ease the movement to and fro from Manish Nagar, Maharashtra Government has ayed another project, a railway overbridge at Radisson Blu, informed Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday. He was speaking post inauguration of Somalwada underpass on Monday in presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis who was the chief guest. In his address, Gadkari stressed on ending the issue of connectivity of emerging areas on Southern tip of the city, beyond Manish Nagar, which is Besa, Beltarodi, Pipla and Ghogli with Wardha Road. The new underpass is in addition to the existing Manish Nagar railway underbridge (RuB) and would further enhance connectivity for thousands of people. The dividing railway line, part of Grand Trunk route and Howrah-Mumbai route, and the railway gate was a major cause of problem as it used to remain closed 150 times a day. Therefore, the Manish Nagar RuB was taken up along with Wardha Road fly-over.

The constituency comes under South West Nagpur and is represented by Chief Minister himself who pitched for another underpass at Somalwada as the one at Manish Nagar was falling short of requirement, mentioned Gadkari. Also, now the RoB planned from Narendra Nagar extension would open towards Jaiprakash Nagar. Gadkari said the new underpass would not see water-logging as the pump installed here has large capacity. A sum of Rs 33.83 crore has been utilised for constructing the Somalwada underpass.

The Chief Minister, in his speech, thanked Union Minister for sanctioning funds from Central Road Fund for the Somalwada underpass. The issue of divide due to railway line was a cause of big trouble and hence Fadnavis said steps were taken to resolve the same. He thanked Gadkari on behalf of citizens of South West Nagpur constituency for sanctioning the underpass. Maharashtra Ministers of State Adv Ashish Jaiswal and Indranil Naik were also present along with Krupal Tumane along with officials of Maha Metro.
