Produce students who will deliver justice to common man in time: Nitin Gadkari

Recalling Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar’s dream of justice for the common man in time, Union Minister for Road Transport Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday hoped that Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar College of Law would produce students that will deliver justice to the common man within time. “Justice delayed is justice denied,” he commented. He was speaking as Guest of Honour at the inauguration of the centenary celebration of the college. Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra; Justice Vikas Sirpurkar, Retired judge of the Supreme Court; Ashish Jaiswal, State Minister; Indranil Naik, State Minister; Dr Prashant Bokare, Vice-Chancellor RTMNU; Dr Rajendra Kakde, Pro-VC; Dr Ravishankar More, Principal; Dr Raju Hiwase, Registrar; Samay Bansod, Waman Turke were present on the dais. Gadkari further said, “We must ensure the quality of the education in the colleges, and this is the challenge for the educational institutions. The quality of the law college is related to our justice system.
 
Former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao, former Vice President of India Mohammad Hidayatullah, and judges have proved their merit as alumni of this college.” He also recalled fond memories associated with the college and said, “I feel happy and proud to be the alumni of this distinguished institution.” Stating that while we are planning to evolve the infrastructure of the law institutions, Gadkari called to consider the aspect of evolving law practices in the country. He also asked to inculcate advanced technology in law practices. Gadkari also stressed the need for justice to the common man in time. CM Devendra Fadnavis also shared his memories of college days and gave credit to the college for his personality development. “The education I gained here has helped me shape my political career,” he stated. A video about the future campus plan of the college was shown during event. Commenting on the construction plan, Fadnavis assured that the college would get all sorts of help for the project.
 
“The new buildings will be ready in the next three years. And, Bhoomipujan of the new building will happen in the centenary year too,” he hoped. He also stressed the preservation of the old buildings and stated that his emotions are still connected with the old buildings of the college. The programme began with the dignitaries lighting the traditional lamp. Union minister Gadkari and CM Fadnavis also unveiled the new logo of the college. Dr Raju Hiwase expressed the Vote of thanks.
