It is mandatory for electricity consumers to complete e-KYC in order to avail the benefits of state government welfare schemes. Consumers have been informed that they can also complete the e-KYC process through the UPAAY app of the Madhya Pradesh Central Zone Electricity Distribution Company. By downloading the UPAAY app from the Google Play Store, electricity consumers can enter their consumer number and Samagra number in the app. After receiving an OTP on their registered mobile number, they can complete the e-KYC process. So far, 6,33,613 consumers have successfully completed their e-KYC. The company has reported that the e-KYC process has been completed for a total of 6,33,613 consumers across various districts.

These include 71,654 consumers in Narmadapuram Rural, 88,176 in Betul Rural, 43,929 in Rajgarh Rural, 54,581 in Bhopal City Circle, 37,893 in Bhopal Rural, 32,092 in Guna Rural, 45,581 in Vidisha Rural, 23,720 in Sehore Rural, 20,995 in Gwalior Rural, 41,993 in Gwalior City Circle, 20,615 in Ashoknagar Rural, 23,592 in Datia Rural, 43,618 in Raisen Rural, 24,291 in Shivpuri Rural, 19,939 in Harda Rural, 9,340 in Sheopur Rural, 21,708 in Morena Rural, and 9,999 in Bhind Rural. It is important to note that the Madhya Pradesh Central Zone Electricity Distribution Company has initiated the “Know Your Consumer” (KYC) process for electricity consumers in 16 districts under the Bhopal, Narmadapuram, Gwalior, and Chambal divisions.

This process aims to update the personal details of electricity consumers in the company’s records. Under the KYC process, information such as Samagra ID, mobile number, and bank account details are being updated. The KYC process will ensure that electricity consumers can directly benefit from state government schemes through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). It will also enhance transparency in the system, ensure physical verification of electricity connections and their load status for real consumers, and help in planning the future expansion of the electricity infrastructure in the company’s operational area. Additionally, the process will assist in accurately tagging the correct consumer identification and mobile numbers, ensuring the smooth operation of the company’s services.
