Korba’s Misha Sindhu, representing Chhattisgarh in Kalaripayattu event at the National Games held in Uttarakhand, has made State proud by clinching the gold medal in the unarmed combat (40-60 kg) category. With this, she has opened Chhattisgarh’s account in Kalaripayattu sport.
According to Anis Memon, President, and Aman Yadav, Secretary of the Raipur Kalaripayattu Association, quoting State’s coach Kamlesh Devangan, Misha showcased an exceptional performance, defeating players from Jammu and Kashmir (Pre-Quarterfinals), Rajasthan (Quarterfinals), Uttar Pradesh (Semifinals), and Haryana in the Finals at Multipurpose Hall, Police Lines, Roshanabad, Haridwar, Uttarakhand. Misha had also won a Gold medal at the 37th National Games. With more competitions lined up, there is a possibility of increasing the medal tally.
