Ashit, Sahil shine but Odisha take lead

 

 

DINSHAW XI conceded first innings lead in spite of a fine all-round show by Ashit Singh in their second-round match of the U-23 Bapuna Cup tournament on Tuesday. Batting first, Odisha were bowled out for 229 by Dinshaw XI with Sanyog Bhagwat (3-26), Sahil Sheikh (5-74) and Ashit Singh (2-49) sharing the spoils. In reply, Dinshaw XI caved in for 188 with Ashit Singh top-scoring with 59.

 

The rain affected match ended in a draw but Odisha registered first innings lead. In another rain affected match at the DY Patil School ground, Kerala batsmen made most of the opportunity to rattle up 227-2 in 67 overs with Abhishek Nair logging a fine 107. In reply, Bapuna XI had only 25 overs to bat in which they made 92-2 as the match ended in a stalemate.
