Criminal held with pistol, live cartridge

 

 

 

Gohalpur police nabbed a notorious criminal and seized a country-made pistol and a live cartridge from him. The arrested has been identified as Juber Khan (24), resident of Azizganj, Pasiyana, Gohalpur. SHO of Gohalpur Police Station Ritesh Pandey informed that late night on Thursday,

 

police received a tip-off that a 24–25-year-old youth, wearing a half T-shirt and black lower was roaming near Panchsheel School, Raddi Chowki, with a pistol and planning to commit a crime. Acting promptly on the information, police started a search and found a suspected man and arrested him. In the questioning, he identified himself as Juber Khan.

 

During a search, police recovered a country-made pistol in his waistband which was found loaded with one cartridge in the magazine. During the interrogation, the accused claimed that the firearm and cartridge had been given to him about five to six years ago by Sameer Khan, a local resident who was later killed in an encounter by Narsinghpur Police. Gohalpur police have seized pistol and cartridge and registered a case against Juber Khan under Sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act.

 

It was further revealed that Juber Khan is a habitual offender, with seven previous cases registered against him at Gohalpur Police Station, including illegal extortion, assault, theft and Arms Act violations. The criminal was arrested by Sub-Inspector Kishore Bagri, In-charge, Anand Nagar Outpost, Head Constables Arun and Devendra and Constables Alok Yadav, Gopal, Abhiranjan and Samrendra.
