exit from Akola on Friday, more districts of Vidarbha likely to witness withdrawal in the next 3-4 days n Staff Reporter After normal rains, the Southwest Monsoon withdrawal began in some parts of Vidarbha on Friday. The line of withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon now passes through Raxaul, Varanasi, Jabalpur and Akola districts. Akola, which is hottest place in Vidarbha region, witnessed the first withdrawal of monsoon this year.
 
According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), conditions are favourable for further withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon from remaining parts of Maharashtra including Vidarbha, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, entire Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh and some parts of West Bengal during next 3-4 days. The normal withdrawal date of Southwest Monsoon from Vidarbha is between October 10 and 15 and it started on time from Akola.
 
As the monsoon withdrawal is on the door steps, the northerly winds started showing its presence in Nagpur city as citizens started feeling winter winds in morning hours from last couple of days. The La Nina is expected to bring a colder winter this year as compare to previous winter seasons. La Nina conditions typically lead to colder-than-average winters in India, and some forecasts predict this could be one of the harshest in decades. In last two days, the minimum temperature started dropping all over Vidarbha as Amravati witnessed a huge drop in 24 hours minimum temperature by 5.9 degrees Celsius on Friday. Amravati recorded
 
17.3 degrees Celsius minimum temperature on Friday which was the lowest in Vidarbha. It was 3.3 degrees Celsius below normal. Buldhana (18.6 degrees Celsius), Akola (19.8 degrees Celsius), and Yavatmal (19.0 degrees Celsius) also recorded the minimum temperature below 20 degrees mark. Nagpur district witnessed 21.6 degrees Celsius minimum temperature which is 0.5 degrees Celsius 24 hours drop. Wardha and Washim were also recorded minimum temperature below normal. The day temperature also reported slight drop in all over Vidarbha but it is still hovering above 32.0 degrees Celsius mark.
