Scooterist hurt after hit by school van

 

 

 

 

A 20-year-old youth was injured when a school van hit his scooter from behind on Khadgaon Road under Wadi Police Station limits on Saturday morning.

 

The police have registered a case against the van driver and taken him into custody.The injured youth has been identified as Shekhar Narad Nishad, a resident of the area near Durga Mandir, Fetri, Katol Road. According to the police, Shekhar was going for breakfast on his scooter (MH-31/EM-276) suddenly rammed into his vehicle from behind. Due to the impact, Shekhar fell on the road and suffered serious injuries.

 

Alert citizens rushed him to a nearby hospital, where doctors said his condition is now stable. Interestingly, the school van was empty at the time of the accident, and no school children were present inside. The police have filed a case of rash and negligent driving against the van driver and started further investigation into the incident.
