Taking major action, Economic Offences Wing (EOW) conducted a raid at Government Seth Govinddas District Hospital for investigation of medical reimbursement and construction bills. Following the instructions of Superintendent of Police (EOW), Anil Vishwakarma, the team conducted a raid on the office of Civil Surgeon Dr Naveen Kothari on Thursday and seized documents. The raid was based on complaints of financial irregularities and corruption in bills related to medical reimbursement, construction, and repair work. On the instructions of Superintendent of Police (EOW) Anil Vishwakarma, TI Bhuvaneshwari Chauhan and her team reached the Civil Surgeon’s office in the morning and began examining the documents. The team seized several registers, payment files, and bill vouchers from the hospital management.
It was reported that these bills indicate fraudulent payments and fraud worth lakhs.
According to sources, the investigation has revealed the names of some contractors and suppliers through whom payments were made for construction and repair work, while the actual work is found to be suspicious.
EOW team was reviewing all records to determine the actual amount of the irregularities and the role of the responsible officers.
EOW officials say that further legal action will be taken after the preliminary investigation of the documents is completed. This action has caused a stir within the hospital administration.
