On Wednesday morning, another child from the Chourai area, 3-year-old Ambika Vishwakarma, died while undergoing treatment in Nagpur. With this death, the number of children who have died in syrup case in Madhya Pradesh has now reached 26. Currently, two more children are battling for life in Nagpur hospitals. According to information, Ambika Vishwakarma, a resident of Kakai Bilwa village in Chourai tehsil, began to deteriorate in early September. When local treatment failed to improve her health, her family took her to Nagpur on September 14.
 
Doctors there confirmed kidney failure. Ambika succumbed on Wednesday morning after nearly a month of treatment. With Ambika's death, the total number of children who have died in the toxic syrup case in the State has reached 26. Earlier, one-year-old Garvik Pawar, a resident of Mordongri in Parasia, also died while undergoing treatment at Nagpur Medical College. The series of deaths has caused panic in district.
